You know, since B-R-C has been gone this week, out of town visiting Old Montreal with her mother, I really should have been able to write a little more. But you know, I didn’t even think about it. I was so busy doing other stuff. Doing MY stuff.
It’s not that I consider myself P-whipped… I should be so lucky, eh? But when someone else comes into your life, and moves into your house, and starts to take over and tells you what you should be doing, theoretically not because she’s a fricking Control Freak, but because she seems to have a slightly better handle, and an entirely different perspective, on what needs to be done, you eventually find yourself doing someone else’s bidding. Like it or not.
So what did I do with my so-called temporary bachelorhood? First, I dropped B-R-C and her mother at the GO train on Tuesday morning. Then I drove to work. After lunch, I picked up my best friend Pat and took him to the airport so he could fly to Charlottetown to spend the rest of the summer with his wife and two delightful young daughters.
I zipped home for an hour or so to give little Karma some backyard (aka doggie toilet) time. Then I went back to the office for a couple of hours. In the evening, Buddy G came over to show me what goes on with the newsletter and web site for this outdoor group B-R-C and I belong to. G is passing the web duties to me, which will be good in the long run, but for now it’s rather painful. Does anybody really use Joomla? Or more acurately, does anybody who has ANY web programming knowledge use Joomla? Yuck!
On Wednesday, I had to deal with overeagerballchasingpup duties in the morning, and then took the bus to the office. I pretty much sat at my desk until it was time to leave at five o’clock. Then I went home, did some more doggie duties, and started to get dinner ready for tammy2tall‘s visit. THAT was fun! Oh, do I love that woman! She makes me laugh, and did her usual job of letting me get rid of some of my B-R-C-related stress. (B-R-C can be just a little up tight at times. She’s much better than when I first met her, but she still has a long way to go before she’ll reach mellow.)
When tammy2tall left, I got myself a drink and watched Barb Wire on the widescreen TV. I must say that Pammie has a nice set of gazoobies, even if they aren’t all her own!
And last night? It was more of the same as Wednesday, except that it pissed down buckets for most of the day. That was good, because it meant I wouldn’t have to water the gardens. Boy! Did they need that rain!! The only problem would be the mud that “Demento Dog” (as tammy2tall called her!) would be bringing into the house from the backyard. Oh, well. “The dog goes out to play in the backyard. As a result, weather conditions may contribute to a muddy kitchen floor. Get over it!”
When I got home from work, I made myself a peanut butter and jam sandwich, did my doggie duties, or more acurately let her out to do her own doodies, and treated myself to Ultraviolet while I ate. After the movie, I called my Dad and did some computer stuff for him by remote connection. Let me tell you… it is PAINFUL trying to do remote support when the other end is connected using a dial-up 56.6K modem!! I’ll be glad when they eventually switch to high-speed internet! I did about two hours of work and could do no more. I was wiped. Brain dead. Drained. And then…
THEN… I cleaned. I swept. I swiffered. I did laundry. I CLEANED the fucking house!!! Do you hear me? I fucking CLEANED the fucking house!!! WHY?!? Because I guess I really do love B-R-C and don’t want her coming home to a not-so-clean house. Or perhaps I just don’t want to have to listen to her whine, bitch, and complain that the house is dirty and SHE has to do all the cleaning?
B-R-C and her mother come back from Montreal tonight; the train gets in at 8:08 p.m. I have to pick them up at Union Station. I’m treating myself to dinner at Shopsy’s deli on Front Street so I can get free parking while I wait for them. I just hope those Potterheads don’t cause major traffic fuck ups!
