Caring or Controlling?
B-R-C is away this week, on a canoe trip up north. Before she went, she left me two notes (below) on the fridge. I can’t decide if it’s nice that she cares enough about my well-being to plan out my meals for the week while she is gone, or if it’s annoying that she’s so controlling that she needs to plan out my meals for the week while she is gone.
Her meal plan is nice, but what she didn’t take into account was the two or three evenings that I’d be out on DATES!! (I went out drinking with A Certain Someone on Saturday night, and tonight she’s coming over to watch that new vampire TV show on CITY-TV. On Wednesday, tammy2tall is taking me away from all the boxes I have to pack this week!)
I’m a REBEL, so I’m taking her notes as GUIDELINES, and am eating what I feel like eating when I feel like eating it. I had the frozen pizza last night instead of tonight. So far, the only shopping I’ve done is to get some milk, which I ran out of and wasn’t even on her shopping list!
Mind you, I think B-R-C is just a little bit pissed off at me right now, although it is mostly her own fault. She and Lizard went up north last Friday for this Wild Women Expedition canoe trip. I must say that I am not impressed with that organization’s communication skills. For most of the month or more before she left, B-R-C was having trouble getting any decent information from them so she could plan for the trip. Which is really what lead to my problem!
They went up north on Friday, leaving around noon or so. B-R-C called me when she got to the camp to say they got there okay. Then she called me the next morning to say goodbye before they actually went into the wilds.
That’s when the bombshell got dropped! Instead of being gone from Friday to Sunday, as originally anticipated, with a revision to be coming back late on Saturday night, B-R-C tells me that it looks like they will actually be coming home on FRIDAY evening!!! FRIDAY FUCKING EVENING!!
My mistake was my reaction… While I should have said something like “it will be great to have you home sooner,” I told B-R-C she couldn’t be in the house on Saturday because I had plans to work with my Clutter Wrangler! She immediately handed the phone to Lizard and said “here, you talk to him,” at which point Lizard terminated the call. OOOpsY!
So not only do I lose a full day of no-B-R-C-time to concentrate on my efforts, but it completely screws up the scheduled session with my Clutter Wrangler on Saturday afternoon! I can’t reschedule because she’s busy on Thursday and Friday. And now I have to deal with B-R-C when she does get home.
I hope she cools off during the week, and thinks of some way to fix the problem!
Like this packing up and moving thing isn’t stressful enough as it is!
