Last night was the first trivia game of the Summer Season, which runs until July 21st. We won. I sent the following report to my teammates:
Subject: FYI: Trivia last night!
I don’t know if I’m speaking out of turn or not, but…
In case you haven’t heard yet, Lesley scored a PERFECT GAME last night!!!
Hardly “‘What?’ she said”…
Yay, Lesley!!! You go, girl!
The captain of our team, who couldn’t make it to the game, replied:
Now I’m REALLY sorry I missed last night’s game.
Way to go, Les!!
And finally, Lesley herself spoke up:
Thanks, Mike, it’s nice to bask in the glory! However brief it is (when will I ever get another synchronized swimming question?).
As you can probably guess, a Perfect Game (10 out of 10) is not that easy to accomplish. And what about me? Well, my score wasn’t as vast as Lesley’s… it was only half-vast! (I got 5 out of 10.)
So in honour of last night’s game, I introduce to you a new feature of this journal:
Quote/Unquote
I will provide a topic, present an appropriate quote, and ask you to give me one of your favourite quotes on the topic at hand.
Today’s Topic: Trivia
Quote: It is completely unimportant; that is why it is so interesting.
Mystery writer Agatha Christie, though I’m not sure what it was said in reference to.
