Kansas-based sumrsnightdream wrote that she lives about 15 minutes outside the devastation zone caused by the large number of tornadoes that hit Kansas on the weekend.
I got a giggle out of the CNN story, in which they said:
Eighty-three twisters were sighted in central and southeastern states Sunday evening, said Dick Hainje, a regional director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
“This is a huge, huge outbreak”…
“Outbreak”? OUTBREAK???
Oh my God! It’s an outbreak of tornadoes! “Eighty-three cases of the deadly Tornado Virus were reported…” It’s an epidemic!
That’s almost as bad as the “rash of Fender Benders” that gets reported about the highways and byways during a winter storm.
It is my dream that one day people will learn how to stop mangling the English Language… Well, I can DREAM, can’t I??
