Apparently, I’ve come down with an attack of North by Northwest, or The Birds, or Frenzy… one of those Hitchcock movie things… oh, yes: VERTIGO! Too bad it couldn’t have been The Man Who Knew Too Much; I could have gone to play trivia Monday evening.
I spoke to my doctor today about my Hitchcockitis. She said Vertigo usually clears itself up, and all they usually do is wait to see what happens over time. She doesn’t think my blood pressure medication, which I stopped taking yesterday, would be to blame for the dizziness, but she doesn’t think coming off it for a little while will do any harm.
Having low blood pressure will cause lightheadedness, or the feeling you’re about to faint. Dizziness is caused by an imbalance of the body’s equilibrium system, which is located in the inner ears.
She suggested I check my blood pressure myself (at the drugstore) once in a while just to keep an eye on it, and take my pills again if it looks like it’s getting out of hand.
I think the Vertigo might be caused by a cold or flu or other virus type thing, so I’m going to take some drugs (Aspirin) and go to bed early and see if I feel better. I have been feeling better a bit at a time day by day, so that’s probably what is going on.
