I spent a lovely day today, with the afternoon spent lying on my back in a chilly Urgent Care Ward (what we here in Ontario used to call “Emergency” before Frickin’ Mike Harris decided it would be in the Public Good to systematically dismantel the Public Health System!) in nothing but my undies and a hospital gown.
This morning around 10am, I suffered a terrible dizzy spell. I had another one even worse around 2pm, and then a third when my brother took me to the UCW, and a fourth actually at the UCW while I was processing the paperwork. I’m feeling better now; just a little light-headed and worn out.
My latest ailment has been “diagnosed” as Vertigo. Aside from the dizziness and spewing my guts once as we got to the doors of the UCW, there is nothing wrong with me… my blood pressure even under stress of the UCW is down to a mere 127/70… my heart rate was a calm flutter at 71 BPM! That’s the lowest those numbers have been in YEARS!
They gave me a prescription for SERC (Betahistine Hydrochloride) [read the Package Insert here] to take if I feel like I need it. I’ll take one before I go to bed tonight… very soon actually… and see how I’m feeling in the morning.
