I’m on it!

THE BIKE, that is!!

This morning, I rode my bike to work. Mind you, it HELPED that I got a phone call from work at about 7:30, while I was still in the bathroom. But I was planning to ride anyway and was about to begin to get my stuff ready. Once I dealt with the problems, I was able to get myself properly in gear.

When all the stuff was assembled, I went out to the shed and brought the old beast out. I pumped up the tires, bungied on my pack, and left the driveway around 8:30 am. It was a tough ride, but not too horrible since I had been riding the Stationary Bike at the club over the winter. The nice thing is that it was a much better workout than I get at the club, and I had a good sweat. Aside from a-wipes in their speedy-stinky auto-mobiles, it was a pleasant ride. I got to the office around 9 o’clock, checked in with people to make sure things were still ok (If you’re going to call me that early in the morning, you’re gonna take me as you get me, sweat dripping off my head and all!), then went down to the club for a shower.

It’s lunchtime now, and while I was originally going to head over to the shop to take the bike in for its Spring Tune Up, I’m debating whether I’ll do it after work instead. I’ve eaten my lunch already, and there are a few things I want to do here this afternoon. The people I’m dealing with directly are leaving around 3-ish, so it may make more sense to do it after that.

Anyway, I just wanted to report in. How was your weekend? Mine was ok.

On Saturday afternoon, I got out the roto-tiller and carved up the lawn to fix that dead body patch (oh, crap… I forgot to water it yesterday!), and did the first tilling of the veggie bed. It will need at least one more go, with a few loads of fresh compost mixed in, before I’m ready to plant. I’m actually going to get something planted before JULY this year!

I went up to Brampton to get a table on Saturday night, drank too much beer and ate too much food (but the steak was good!), stayed over to participate in the charitiy Spring Sprint around Professor’s Lake for Brain Tumor Research on Sunday morning.

And tonight, the new trivia season starts. We need a substitute player, so if you want to play let me know!
