Odd

So I’m sitting here at my desk, minding my own business, and while I’m listening to tunes through the headphones– it helps me concentrate… so sue me!— but I can’t help overhear a conversation from the cubicle next door.

One manager D was explaining to another J how J needed to get a subway transfer to be used as a receipt so D could include it in the expenses and get the money back for the subway fare. And D had to go into an extreme amount of detail for J about where to find a transfer in the subway station… what the transfer machine looked like and where to find it and stuff like that!

I couldn’t believe that someone J‘s age– she’s got to be my age at least, which puts her in her mid-forties– who has been working here for as long as I suspect she has– she IS a manager, after all– has NEVER taken the subway!!
