What a lovely house

Today’s Friday Five, picked up from pinque (and elexa)…

1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
Four: Fyve Oakes, into which I was born; Mrs. McTammany’s Home for Wayward Girls, the “bachelor pad” I shared with my older brother; Chateau Peunrit, where I moved when my brother got married; and Xoozland where I am now. Yes, ALL of the places I’ve lived have been given names.
[Five, if you count McLaughlin College when I lived on campus during university.]

2. Which was your favorite and why?
Either Fyve Oakes, because of all the childhood memories, or Xoozland because I’m doing so much work on it myself.

3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
Very Stressful, because I have so much, ah-hem **stuff**… collections and shit. I can’t seem to part with much of it, though I have been learning to get rid of some of it!!

4. What’s more important, location or price?
Location, location, location. As my best friend said at the time I bought Xoozland, “you can change the house, but you can’t change the location!”

5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
It’s a country house, probably an old Century Farm. It has lots of land, lots of trees, lots of wildlife, away from neighbours and traffic and all the hustle and bustle of the city. And down the hill is a Big Pond with a little dock, where I can take Tippe out for a paddle, or just sit there with a fishin’ pole, letting the world go by. As for the house, it’s a big sucker with lots of rooms, a big kitchen great for parties, and a huge wrap-around porch with a lovely porch swing.
