And another one bites the dust!

Okay, so I was sort of, almost, maybe dating this woman. We’d met through one of those online personals things, met a couple of times for brunch and drinks, but hadn’t progressed beyond that. Yet.

In the “It’s a Small World” category, it turns out that she is a long-time family friend of my aunt, and has known our family for many, many, many, many years. In fact, though I didn’t really know her at the time, she was also at my cousin’s memorial service about six months before!

And then as we parted company after the first time we met for brunch, we had what felt like a Really Awkward Moment: was this “a date” and the beginning of something, or was it just two family friends (if only by osmosis) getting together. I decided to just go with the flow and see what happened the next time.

Then on Saturday, we met downtown to get me outfitted for this upcoming ski trip. She’s also one of the organizer types in the group, and has been skiing before so knew what I needed to wear.

So after I spent over $200 on stuff, we went for coffee. (Well, she had a coffee product, I had a Chai Latté… YUM!! If you want the BEST Chai Latté that I’ve ever tasted, go to Timothy’s World Coffee. It’s better than either Starfucks, or the Sucking Cup, the only other places I’ve had Chai Latté.)

We were talking about my purchases, and about the things I didn’t purchase because I may already have something suitable at home. I was going to check them out, and we would decide if they were okay or I’d need to get something else. I asked her what her schedule was like so we could get together again, and that’s when she said I was a good friend but she was sort of seeing someone.

And you know, I’m okay with that. Of course, it does explain why she was telling me about how the male-female ratio on this trip will be about 60-70% women!
