The waiting game

So I’m sitting here at work, thinking I should be doing something sort of work related, and I realize that:
A) there isn’t a lot for me to do at the moment, mainly because
B) I’ve got a major implementation happening tomorrow, the first I’ve been able to accomplish in the nearly two years I’ve been on this assignment, and
C) tomorrow is going to be a LONG DAY!

All of which leaves me sitting at my desk, cooling my hoofies, and starting the long, arduous process of wrapping my brain around this implementation, making sure I haven’t forgotten anything that needs to be done, and making sure I don’t forget something that needs to be done at the time it needs to be done tomorrow.

To make matters worse, I also have to be back in the office for 7:00 a.m. or earlier on Thursday morning, just to be around on the off chance that there are any problems encountered.

Just remember this important piece of advice: As soon as you make something foolproof, somebody else will come along with a new, improved fool!

Ah, well. It is just another feather in my cap, right?
