Sitting on my toadstool

Sitting on my toadstool
I look out over an
evergreen dream
beyond the edge of reality
as the sea nymph beckons
to me calling me by name.
Into the water I jump
head first without a care
never once remembering
that I never learned to swim
and as I go under I regret
I never learned the rules of the game.
Time after Time over again
each time I jump
headlong into the fray
I sink below the quagmire
And as I grow older I never learn
that things are still the same.
Below the level of my head
I sink....
