In case you were wondering, I’m sitting at my desk at my office, which is located across the road from the pub where my writers’ group meeting was supposed to have taken place this evening. Well, I was there at the appointed time, but nobody else showed up. (Watch this space for a nicely worded diatribe to them about this. I want to run it past my co-thingy first for a second, sober opinion…)
But having sat there and had two (imperial) pints of beer in less than two hours, along with a small caesar salad and 10 chicken wings, I was in no condition to drive home when the time for the end of the meeting (and my meal) came. So I wandered across the road to my office building, came up to my desk, and flipped on the computer.
And thus began my drunken rambling for this evening.
P.S. I’m getting closer to starting construction of the new deck. I was supposed to start today, but my brother is going to call his best friend and borrow the hammer drill and sliding compound miter saw, tools which will make the job a lot easier. So I’m spending the time going over the plans yet again, and getting a much better idea of what pieces of wood I need to cut to put this puzzle together.
