So I was nibbling on a bit of cheese last night, enjoying it quite muchly, and I started to think about what some of my favourite flavours are…
- In no particular order:
- Extra old cheddar cheese. I don’t mean the stuff you get in the grocery store that’s marked “Old Cheddar”, which is stronger than your “Mild Cheddar” and “Medium Cheddar” cheeses. I mean really old cheddar cheese, where it tells you how many years it has aged. Seven to 10 years old is simply superb!
- Watermelon. One of my all-time favourites. But it’s got to be fresh watermelon, and not just watermelon flavouring.
- Ok, while I’m at it, let me just say that I really dislike “Artificial Flavours.” I have come to realize that they are now a part of our modern society, but I think they taste more Artificial than Flavour!
- Corn on the cob. During fresh corn season, I can eat 5 to 8 cobs a day, and still want more sometimes!
- Raspberry. In just about any context: fresh berries, jam, pie, candy.
- Barbecued Beef. While I don’t have it very often because of my diet, when I get a chance to have a really well-cooked, well-barbecued piece of beef, like a nice steak, for example, I really enjoy it.
- Tim Hortons “Canadian Creme” doughnuts. IF I’m going to have a doughnut particularly with my tea for the drive home after an evening of trivia or klubbing then I will usually have this tasty morsel. It’s like a “Boston Creme” doughnut (cake doughnut filled with custard and topped with a coating of chocolate icing) except that it has maple icing on top.
Well, that’s all I can think of at the moment. Hmmmm. For some strange reason, I’m getting hungry now!
POLL TIME!
