Industrial Lip Piercing

I got a lip piercing this weekend!

OUCH!

It wasn’t intentional, and there’s no jewelry in it now or ever will be. It was pierced in an Industrial Accident!

You see… I was working on the house, using a stone chisel, pry bar, and sledge hammer to remove the old parging (cement protection at the base of the exposed brick), when a chunk popped loose and flew at me, hitting me in the face. It smashed my lip into my teeth— fortunately there was no dental damage$#151 causing the “piercing.” Actually, I don’t think it really IS pierced all the way through, but there’s a cut on the inside of my lip, a matching cut on the outside of my lip, and it is swollen to visibly noticeable size.

OUCH!

The incident has confirmed to me that I would never intentionally get a lip piercing! Besides which, if I did get a lip ring, I’d spend all day playing with it constantly and it would probably get irritated and infected, or would never heal properly in the first place.
