There were two monks walking by a river, keeping the silence for their wander from Village A to Village B. On the way, the monks heard a woman screaming for help across the river. So the older monk swam across the river to pick up the lady and carry her on his back across to the side that the monks were walking. The lady jumped off and thanked the monk and went on her way as the monks continued in silence again to wander back to village B. Once arrived at the village, the younger monk said to the older one, ‘Why did you break the vow of silence? You know you are not allowed to do that.’ The older monk replied, For 15 minutes, I carried the lady on my back. For the whole time, you carried her on yours.'”
