{"id":607,"date":"2005-01-26T01:29:00","date_gmt":"2005-01-26T01:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/badinage.com\/journal\/?p=607"},"modified":"2005-01-26T01:29:00","modified_gmt":"2005-01-26T01:29:00","slug":"listen-up-geeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/badinage.com\/journal\/2005-01\/607-listen-up-geeks","title":{"rendered":"Listen up, geeks!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I want to set up a blog on my web site so that my family can discuss details of our Family History and a Family Reunion I&#8217;m trying to organize for the summer.<\/p>\n<p>My web host offers four different Blogs:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a HREF=\"http:\/\/b2evolution.net\/\">b2evolution<\/a>: A blog script featuring multiple blogs, categories\/sub-categories, skins, search function, multiple languages, search engines friendly URLs.<\/li>\n<li><a HREF=\"http:\/\/nucleuscms.org\/\">Nucleus<\/a>: A powerful blog script featuring multiple blogs, multiple authors, drafts and future posts, bookmarklets.<\/li>\n<li><a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.pmachine.com\/\">pMachine Free<\/a>: This is a features limited version of pMachinePro (which seems to be discontinued!).<\/li>\n<li><a HREF=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/\">WordPress<\/a>: WordPress is a personal publishing tool with focus on aesthetics and featuring cross-blog tool, password protected posts, importing, typographical niceties, multiple authors, bookmarklets.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Any of you have any experience, comments, suggestions, advice on which one I should consider? At the moment, I&#8217;m leaning towards <b>b2evolution<\/b> because it seems most like the ones I am familiar with: <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.blogger.com\/\">blogger<\/a>, <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/\">livejournal<\/a>, <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.deadjournal.com\/\">deadjournal<\/a>.
