That was the day that I went downtown to <i>fight that damned parking ticket that I got when we were out on Chocoholic&#8217;s Birthday that I never should have gotten anyway.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Well, I finally heard from the Toronto Parking Tag Operations department. They confirmed and acknowledged that it was a case of &#8220;machine defective&#8221;. They wrote:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your enquiry has been investigated by this office. The above-noted parking infraction has been cancelled. Please be advised parking is prohibited if the meter or pay and display machine cannot be set into operation or issue a valid receipt. Please keep this letter for your records.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So there you go. <b>Now you know.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>They could get quite a scam going just by purposely buggering the machines, issuing tickets, and then waiting for all that revenue from parking tickets issued to people who figure it isn&#8217;t worth the trouble or don&#8217;t have the time to visit the Parking Tag Office IN PERSON to fight!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I was having A Crappy Day?
