It’s funny how some things in Life come back to haunt you. This year, I had two women come back into my life briefly because of “unfinished business” from those relationships.<\/p>\n
In January, two years after I’d last spoken to her, I had the rare opportunity and pleasure of having Mel’s phone service disconnected.<\/p>\n
\nMy mom discovered it when she saw a listing for an [my name]<\/i> in Burlington on a CD-ROM telephone directory. I called Bell Canada directory assistance, and found a new number still in my name. When Mel changed her number two years ago, she had the nerve to leave it in my name!<\/p>\n
Since it was in my name, and I was legally responsible for it, I arranged to have it disconnected. In the end, after all the negotiations with the phone company were complete so I didn’t have to pay for the rental phone that Mel failed to return, I had to pay $9.95 to settle the final bill.
