\nWhen the last issue of The Jourardian<\/i><\/b> came out, I sent a copy to Mel, since the cover story was about her. I also sent a short note saying hello, and asking her to return the stuff I lent her.<\/p>\n
\nIn June of 1994, I got a reply from her, and while it was not quite the reply that I expected, I was not too surprised by it. When I got home from work that day, there were two phone messages waiting. The second was from Mel.<\/p>\n
She said, “Thanks for the letter and the three strikes against me. You didn’t seem to mind it at the time. I gotten (sic<\/i>) married February 28th, and don’t bother calling my Mom’s place any more or sending me any letters because I’ll have you charged.” The husband is the ex-boyfriend she was running from when I met her, the guy who beat her up on several occasions.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, I was able to find something to help occupy my time and take my mind off things.
