{"id":372,"date":"2003-04-26T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2003-04-26T12:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/badinage.com\/journal\/?p=372"},"modified":"2003-04-26T12:15:00","modified_gmt":"2003-04-26T12:15:00","slug":"time-travelling-bureaucrats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/badinage.com\/journal\/2003-04\/372-time-travelling-bureaucrats","title":{"rendered":"Time Travelling Bureaucrats!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You may remember a <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/users\/xooz2\/88782.html\">couple weeks back<\/a>, where I was fighting with the city to get a rebate payment for some work I had done at Xoozland.<br \/>\nMy contact had told me on <b>April 12th<\/b> that she &#8220;personally mailed out the rebate cheque yesterday!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was wondering if &#8220;the cheque was in the mail,&#8221; or if the cheque really WAS in the mail?<\/p>\n<p><b>THE CHEQUE FINALLY ARRIVED!!<\/b> It came in on Tuesday just past, <b>April 22nd, 2003<\/b>. I was so excited that I immediately went out and walked to the nearest bank machine to deposit into my account right away. <i>(I didn&#8217;t care that they spelled my last name incorrectly; I fought so long and hard to get the damned thing I didn&#8217;t want to worry about any further delays! So far there&#8217;s no sign of any problems from the bank.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>But I noticed<\/b> the dates on the cheque and envelope. The cheque itemization portion had a <font COLOR=\"#880044\">transaction date of <b>April 15, 2003<\/b><\/font>, and the cheque itself and the envelope had a <font COLOR=\"#880044\">date of <b>April 16, 2003<\/b><\/font>! <b>&#8220;Mailed it out YESTERDAY&#8221;???<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Now I&#8217;m wondering what convoluted futuristic time traveling planet my contact is from!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You may remember a couple weeks back, where I was fighting with the city to get a rebate payment for some work I had done at Xoozland.
