I fell down about 20 times!

I learned how to use snow-shoes! In the afternoon on Saturday, we went snow-shoeing across a frozen lake to the island in the middle. While the rest of the group stayed on the lake and went around the island, a few of us climbed up the island hill in snow-shoes. The deer make the climb look so easy, but it’s not the same for a human.

We got hit with a Big Winter Storm last night, which dumped between 8 to 12 inches of snow on us. As a result, we had fresh powder on the trails, and that made them slower and easier to control. The trees were beautiful all draped in a blanket of glistening whiteness! This morning, I didn’t fall down at all until we’d been on the trail for almost an hour. I fell once coming down a twisty, bumpy trail through the woods. I fell again a little while later because my glasses got fogged up and I couldn’t see where I was going and couldn’t judge the trail!

Traffic coming home wasn’t too horrendous, and we managed to make it back to town in about three hours– a lot quicker than I was expecting.

And on that note, I’m heading for bed… I’m EXHAUSTED!!!

It surprised the hell out of me, but I had a GREAT time on the weekend!
