\nA lawyer for Andrew Luster, the great-grandson of cosmetic mogul Max Factor who vanished during his trial on rape charges, said yesterday that he would vigorously defend his missing client in court even as police hunted the wealthy heir as a fugitive.
\nAttorney Roger John Diamond failed to have Luster’s trial halted until the 39-year-old millionaire surfaced so it must proceed with an empty chair in the Ventura, Calif., courtroom where his client once sat. Trials in absentia are legal but rare in California.<\/font><\/p>\n
