Cynthia was one of the names of the mythological <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.factmonster.com\/ce6\/society\/A0804859.html\">Greek moon goddess <b>Artemis<\/b><\/a>,  referring to her birth on <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.factmonster.com\/ipd\/A0397446.html\">Mount Cynthus<\/a> on Delos.
