The names for each day will begin with same letter, and I&#8217;ll work my way through the alphabet until I do &#8220;Z&#8221; on October 26th. In the Old Testament Abner was a cousin of Saul and the commander of his army. Abner was a valiant warrior and clever strategist. The story that <a HREF=\"http:\/\/www.factmonster.com\/ce6\/sports\/A0856863.html\"><b>Abner Doubleday<\/b> invented baseball<\/a> in 1839 has been discredited.<\/p>\n<p><font SIZE=+2 COLOR=\"#FF66FF\"><b> AGATHA :<\/b><\/font><br \/>\n<b>Pronounced:<\/b> AG-a-tha<br \/>\n<b>Origin(s):<\/b> German, Greek, Latin<br \/>\n<b>Meaning:<\/b> &#8220;Good&#8221; from the Greek adjective <i>agathos<\/i>. Saint Agatha was a 3rd-century martyr from Sicily. After spurning the advances of a Roman official she was tortured and had her breasts cut off before being killed.
