Busy… and sickening.

tammy2tall asked “How was your weekend?”

Let’s see… I came home from work on Friday and spent some time with Orson.

(Did I mention he flew out of his cage to visit with Chocoholic and me a weekend ago? It spooked Chocoholic, who was sitting on the blue chair, which in turn startled Orson, who bumped his landing. So I picked him up and helped him up on to the mirror, and he stayed there for a while until I put him back in his cage when he started to get pooped out. I wanted to clip his claws while he was out, but Chocoholic told me not to since Orson was already spooked about coming out and this was progress!)

Then I went over to Chocoholic‘s house around 8 o’clock and spent Friday and Saturday nights there. She went to yoga on Saturday morning and I did some work on the repairs to her basement apartment. (I’m replacing tiles in the shower stall, which is turning into a bit of a job since the drywall behind them rotted out!) The apartment will be available for rent March 1st, so let me know if you know of anybody looking for a place!

In the evening, we did a photo shoot in her basement… she posed for “body alphabet” series she needs for a night school assignment. And we rounded out the night by watching As Good As It Gets on TV.

When I dropped Chocoholic off at Sunday School, I came home and spent some more time with Orson. I even took his cage into the kitchen so he could visit with me while I did the dishes and stuff. He wasn’t too happy about having his cage moved, but he seemed to like the attention after all.

I picked her up at Kipling Subway in the afternoon, and I zipped over to Rona to get some stuff for our houses. (Tools for the job at hers, and a new water filter system for mine.) On the way back to my house, we drove by a house my agent had sent me a listing for. It turned out to be a TINY bungalow on a dead-end street off Royal York north of the Queensway, backing on to a school yard, and right next to a monster house conversion, all for a measly $329,000!!!!

A Certain Someone and her doggy came over later and we all went for a walk. We passed another TINY bungalow not too far from Xoozland. We had just missed the Open House, but the neighbours said the owners were asking $340,000 for it! Chocoholic thought for a few minutes and then said something to the effect that we could renovate MY house, and live in it for a few years,… Hmmm… I think she’s starting to see the light! We’re going to arrange a meeting with my Real Estate Agent to discuss the issue(s) in more detail. Stay tuned for news!

And then after we finished all our work, Chocoholic and I went to see a movie. It’s the first time we’ve done that since we met! We went to see Big Fish, the latest offering from Tim Burton. HOWEVER, in hindsight our viewing choice was not the greatest:

“The story revolves around a dying father and his son, who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years. The son winds up re-creating his father’s elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father’s great feats and his great failings.”

Had we known before we went… Oy!

After all of that, I’m doing much today since my head hurts like hell. As I told my triviamates, “I woke up with a heck of a head filled with everything except trivial information!” I’m going to go home after today’s brutality, take it easy, have a big hot toddy and try to get to bed early.
