What a weekend! I feel almost totally productive, which is surprising considering how I was feeling yesterday.
I had a touch JUST a touch, mind you of a sore throat and slight temperature when I got home from work on Friday. I took a couple of Aspirin when I went to bed, took a couple more when I got up again, and basically laid low on Saturday. In spite of the weather we’ve had two beautifully bright, sunny, and warm days this weekend I only went outside once all day, and that was to chuck a bucket of peanuts at the squirrels. I didn’t even get out of my jammies!
Today, I’m feeling much better! This morning I went out to Home Despot to get some shelf brackets. Then I went to check out the Sony Store at the mall to see if they had any replacement needles for my new turntable. (No, I don’t need a new needle yet! I want to get a spare just in case, and I want to get a special one so I can play my Dad’s old 78s without damaging either them or the turntable.)
But I got to the mall too early! The stores hadn’t even opened yet. So I got a nice big cup of tea, had a mildly flirtatious encounter with a woman/girl at the fixin’s counter, and sat in a big, comfy chair and watched people go by. It was interesting, and it gave me an idea of something to do some time: Get a couple or few people together, get all gothed-up, and go sit in a mall for a few hours, drink our tea/coffee, and watch people go by watching us! ANYONE INTERESTED IN JOINING ME SOME TIME?
Once I left the mall and came home, I spent the rest of the day doing chores around the house. I have done four loads of laundry, three loads of dishes, burned four CDs with archives of junk downloaded from the internet, and ripped a couple more LPs to MP3.
It’s been a busy day, and I think I’ve earned a good night’s rest!
