Meaning: French and English Feminine form of CHRISTIAN, from a medieval Latin name that meant “Christian”, or “Follower of Christ.” American tennis player Christine Marie Evert, noted for her poise on the court, her strong, two-handed backhand, and her nearly flawless baseline game, won at least one Grand Slam title every year from 1974 to 1986. Christine was the name of the bright red 1958 Plymouth Fury in John Carpenter’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.
Special Significance: Christine S. is one of my favourite friends.
RIDLEY :

Meaning: Derived from the Old English “Reed Lea” meaning “reed clearing” or “cleared wood”, or “Red Lea” meaning “the red meadow.” British film director Ridley Scott is known for his stunning and elaborate visual style, developed through years of experience as set designer and director of TV commercials. His films, which often feature strong female characters, include Alien (1979), Blade Runner (1982), Thelma & Louise (1991), and Gladiator (2000).
Special Significance: My first budgie is named Ridley, after Ridley Scott who directed Someone to Watch Over Me which holds fond memories for me.
