It’s Thursday, and I’m taking the day off to get some more work done on the deck project. It’s coming along slowly but surely.
Today, I’ve got a bunch of fiddly bits to work out building this deck really is like a big puzzle. You’ve got a bunch of parts, a rough idea of how it’s going to go together, but nothing in the way of accurate measured drawings I designed it myself, and don’t have any blueprint-making software. So as I go along, minor changes are being made, and there’s lots of fiddly bits to work out.
One of the first things I will probably do, once I get off the computer and put some “going out in public” clothes on, is to go to the deck project store and get some more stuff. I think I need to get some larger stair stringers, since I raised the height of the “lower deck.” And I think this will be a valid opportunity to invest in some nifty tools, such as a couple of bar clamps.
But how much work I actually get done will depend on the weather. It’s supposed to be clear (or cloudy) but c-c-c-c-cold today.
