Origin(s): English
Meaning: “heather” from Middle English hather, the name of a small flowering evergreen plant with pink or white flowers that thrives on peaty barren lands as in Scotland. Legend has it that if you pick heather and take it home, someone in your family will die within a year. Film and television actress Heather Locklear is probably best known for her role as Amanda Woodward, landlady extraordinaire, of the hit Fox series Melrose Place.

HUMPHREY :
Pronounced: HUM-free
Origin(s): English, German, Teutonic
Meaning: Means “peaceful warrior” from Germanic hun “warrior” and frid “peace”. The Normans introduced this name to Britain. American actor Humphrey Bogart known for his roles as a tough, cynical guy with a big heart, starred in The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca.
