“Being Green” is all the rage these days, as people finally begin to realize what kind of environmental mess human beings have created on this beautiful and utterly insignificant little blue-green planet which orbits a small unregarded yellow sun far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy.
But “it’s not easy being green,” and it’s difficult to balance the need for environmental good deeds with the need to have an absolutely fabulous urban lifestyle. We can’t all be perfect, and so we must make compromises.
Those compromises end up becoming our little Eco-Crimes:
Don’t recycle enough?
Don’t use fresh water wisely?
Drive too many gas-guzzling, German-engineered, prestige vehicles?
Leave your computer on all the time?
Don’t make use of “environmental facilities where they exist”?
So what’s YOUR Eco-Crime?
(Mine is water use: long showers, running water to wash dishes, etc. B-R-C’s is not sorting the recycling properly, which may not seem like a big deal to you, but it can lead to recycling programs being cancelled because they are too costly to maintain!)
