What next?

Here is finance.sympatico.msn.ca’s list of 12 new necessities that drain your cash:

So I’ve bolded the ones that I consider necessities for me, and italicized the ones where an explanation or rationalization would make things clearer.

  • Bottled Water
(B-R-C just bought a case of this stuff… don’t ask me why, though I suspect it will be to take to her yoga classes. I don’t know why she doesn’t just use the sports bottle from her bike.)
  • Second Car
  • Private School
  • Childhood Parties
  • Pet Grooming / Walking>
(Karma is a Springer Spaniel, and her beautifully soft long fur sometimes gets matted. What we really need is to learn to groom her ourselves, not to mention that it would be more fun for all of us that way.)
  • Daily Latte
(First of all, I don’t do coffee. Not at all. But once in a while, not daily, I enjoy a Chai Latte. It’s a treat.)
  • Cable TV
(Most of the programs I watch are not on Basic Cable. If I were truly strapped for cash I could live without it.)
  • Manicure / Pedicure
  • Botox
  • Cellphone
(Yes, this has become a minor necessity for B-R-C and I, especially because we don’t have a second car. A pair of cell phones are a lot cheaper than a car, AND we have the plan where we can call each other for free!)
  • Lawn Service
(We used a WEED service for a while, but don’t use them anymore, even though they keep calling me and calling me and…)
  • Clothes
