I’ve been trying to get together with A Certain Someone when B-R-C and I go see Sweeney Depp, but I’m not having much luck.
I thought we were going to do it on the way back from checking out Stoney Creek Furniture on Sunday afternoon. Now I’m not sure if we’re heading west at all on Sunday!
I mentioned my idea to B-R-C last night, since we HAD talked about the possibility. After she took a look at the Stoney Creek web site, she said the stuff looked cheap and she would rather go to Newmarket to look at the furniture we saw at the Home Show.
I’d suggest Saturday might be a possibility for a movie, but I no longer know what’s going on in my life!! The frustrating thing is that plans can change between the time we leave the house and the time we get to where we’re headed. For example, last Monday(?) evening, I wanted to get out of the house to do some web design work. I didn’t need a computer, just some paper to make some notes and write some ideas. I was thinking I would walk down to one of the pubs or restaurants in Port Credit, grab a bite to eat and a beer, and do my work there. B-R-C had other ideas. SHE had had a bad day that day, and needed to get out of the house. First, she suggested we could go to Chapters, where I could get a tea at StarFucks and sit there while she wandered around the bookstore. When I pulled into the parking lot, she had changed her mind and wanted to go to Sherway Gardens instead. Fine… I’ll get a drink and sit down in the Food Court. So we parked at the Bay and went inside. I was trying to make a bee-line for the Food Court, but SHE saw the “40% OFF” signs and wanted me to try on some shirts!!! I DID NOT GO THERE TO GO SHOPPING!!! Then there was an antique show on throughout the mall… I had to spend my last half hour before the place closed wandering through all of that. And if that wasn’t enough, when we got back to the Bay to leave, she decided she wanted to look at purses!! As a result, we ended up being locked inside the store, and had to walk all the way around to get back to the car!! Okay, I’ve ranted enough for now!
B-R-C is about to start an online course through Queen’s University. That means two things: first, she’ll be on the computer in the evenings; and second, depending on how her course is going, will probably be happy to have me get out of the house for a couple of hours when she needs to concentrate on her work. I’ve never taken an online course before, so I don’t know if it will be self-paced, or if she’ll need to sign on at specific times.
What I do know is that I’m going to take as much advantage to get out of the house as I can, even if it’s just to go sit in a bar and do some writing/thinking/planning/scheming/plotting of my own! Maybe I can get together with friends some evening when she’s busy with her course? I’ll keep you posted.
