Scrub the Club

So B-R-C’s family is in town. I’m overwhelmed by the nattering old ladies and ensuing Soap Opera!! Lord, love a duck!!

As for Thursday, I think we’ve decided that we’re going to scrub the clubbing idea after all. The reasons are simple.

First, we have the two old ladies in tow for a final-night-in-town dinner on the Danforth. Xoozland is almost at the entirely opposite end of the city. In order to go out clubbing, we’d have to take them home and drop them off, then get changed, and go back downtown. Not impossible, but just one more added hurdle to jump.

Second, B-R-C’s cousin and aunt have a relatively early flight on Friday. If we go out after dinner, we can’t be out too late or the fliers would not be in great shape to fly. And the club doors don’t open until 10 p.m. and the place doesn’t really get happening until 11:30 or later!

Thirdly, A Certain Someone has to work on Friday morning. It’s a long drive in from Borington, and a long drive back, so she wouldn’t be able to stay out late, either.

Instead, we’re thinking of going to a Jazz Bar (The Senator or Montreal Bistro) after dinner. The mothers can come along and we can make it a relatively early night. We’ll arrange for B-R-C’s cousin to come for another visit, and we’ll hit the clubs then.
