Today is my sister’s birthday. You remember my sister… she was on Jeopardy! last month. She deserves a birthday card.
So I sent her a MushyGushy card.
She really liked it, but when she replied to me she said she got a bounce back. Hmmm… So, I see how this thing works…
In the “Sender” field on my card, I put “Love, Mikey”. I thought it was just a standard closing statement. The Gushy thing thought it was two e-mail addresses: one for “Mikey,” and one for “Love.” Silly computer! (BTW, I wanted to add “and B-R-C and Karma” but there wasn’t enough room on the line.)
Well, Mikey was in its memory banks (does anything actually HAVE “memory banks” anymore??), but it couldn’t find Love. Sad, but true. Gushy must be so lonely!
Instead, it used “Love@unspecified-domain”, which bounced since it doesn’t exist. Not to worry.
