If I’m exhausted, it’s understandable! The weather on the weekend was superb and I got a lot accomplished around the house.
You should see how much work I did on the weekend!
- I helped B-R-C take Karma to the vet for her first check up and second set of shots. Even the vet was impressed by how cute and smart Karma is! She is a really wonderful puppy, but sometimes she turns from Mighty Dog to Bitey Dog. She bit my lip and drew blood before I went to work this morning!
- I got rid of all the carpet in the bedroom.
- I carved up some more of the limestone screening in the old driveway to prepare some new garden space.
- I built a Recycling Centre for the blue boxes and green bin. In keeping with the spirit of the thing, it is made entirely from recycled or excess wood from other projects. Okay, so I used new nails and screws, but it’s so difficult to reuse those!
- My younger brother came over and we installed a ceiling fan in the bedroom.
- I cut the driveway and dug four holes for a new fence/gate. (The next step will be to fill them with concrete and build the fence.)
- I went for a hike on the Bruce Trail with B-R-C and some friends.
- I got an acupuncture treatment for my neck.
Our Clutter Wrangler just called me, checking in with us after her vacation. She’s a little disappointed that I don’t have any work for her at the moment. I’m at the point where I really need some grunt labour to shuffle stuff around, and don’t want to pay her $35/hour for that. We might see if the kid next door, who was one of Beryl’s Grade 8s last year, might be interested in $5/hour to help out.
BTW, if anyone in the GTA is interested, we have some leftover wall-to-wall carpeting that’s yours for the asking. You can come and get it any time. Or if you can’t transport it yourself, if you ask real nice, I might be able to deliver it.
And now, I think it’s time to find some ice cream. EVERY NIGHT on the weekend, B-R-C promised me we’d go out for ice cream… but we NEVER DID!
