I can’t believe how good the refinished floors look!!! It really brought out the detail of the grain in the wood. Sure they’re old, but they have a lot of character. I think it looks BETTER THAN the NEW hardwood flooring you get in the stores these days!
The work crew came in this morning and they did a fantastic job. It is just about complete; they are coming back in the morning to give it one more coat of polyurethane finish. Once it dries (about 24 hours, depending on the humidity and stuff) we can walk on it. We’ll let it dry a few extra days over the long weekend before we start moving the furniture back.
BTW, Orson is safely away at camp: a nearby vet’s office has boarding facilities. It is only five kilometers away, and he was quite calm when I took him over this morning. I think it must have been the dark the other night that caused him to freak out; today he was able to see what was going on.
