This was going to be a report of the First Quadrennial Xoozland Leap Year Eve Party which took place on Saturday night, but I got slightly side-tracked, and now I’m too tired to write coherently.
Okay, so I’m a little late in this posting anyway, but what can I say except that I’ve been a little busy what with trying to get my Life back on track. Well, not actually MY Life, or more specifically not actually my Life AT THE MOMENT, but more or less the potential FUTURE Life I’m hoping to have with Chocoholic. It has not been easy as the last couple of months have been loaded with strife, tension, arguments, and fights. Most of which were ultimately caused by the events of last December, and the length of time the human existence naturally requires to properly deal with such things.
But there does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel. The fights have slowed to a crawl, and even though we broke up yet again (this time only for about 10 minutes!), I’m starting to fall back in love with her. I think it is mutual, too.
In a note I received from her today, she wrote: I loved waking up next to you this morning and walking you to the bus. There was something very calming about it.
I’ve also started to come to grips with the eventual and inevitable demise of Xoozland, at least as we have come to know it. As much as I like the area and the property, I have not been able to get Chocoholic to see it that way. No matter what arguments or logic I present, she just does not like this part of town.
[Stay tuned to this journal for future notice of the FINAL Annual Xoozland Garden Party, to take place in July or August.]
We’ve started the House Hunting process, which is expected to be long, drawn-out and quite difficult. I have a number of important requirements for another house, and I won’t settle for less than near perfection on this!
