Got your attention, did I? Well, I hate to burst your bubble but this really has nothing to do with sex, except to give me an opportunity to mention that the music round for last night’s trivia was called “Rock & Roll & Drugs” and consisted of identifying the dead musician from a clue and snippet of music. The answer to my question was “Kurt Cobain” and I didn’t even need to hear the music. But then again, just how many dead “Seattle Grunge Rockers…” are/were there??
Xoozland, and indeed all of Canada with the exception of the Northwest Territories, is currently in the middle of “the worst snow storm in recent memory.” Said recent memory being about this time in 1999 when then-mayor Mel Lastman panicked and called in the army to help shovel the snow. This is, mind you, pretty much as I predicted it would be, given that we had such a mild December.
Shit! We’re CANADIANS! Snow is what we are all about! If you want to LIVE here, learn to GET USED TO IT!
So yesterday as I watched the Wonderful Winter Whitestuff come down we had 10 centimetres (4 inches) in the Xoozland area by noon I was trying to figure out what to do. I had to go downtown to play trivia, and since I was coming here to the Alternate Office (the one not near Xoozland) I figured I would go to Chocoholic‘s house after that and crash there overnight.
One thing was certain: I didn’t intend to drive to trivia. Option One was to take the bus home to Xoozland to get my change of clothes, have a quick bite to eat, and then catch the bus back to the subway to take the train downtown. Option Two was to stay at work my Regular Office is right above a subway station and then take the train downtown to trivia and have something to eat at the pub before the game. I chose Option Two, saving myself at least an hour or more in useless transit, and allowing me to have a huge spinach salad for dinner.
After the game, which ended later than usual, I hopped on the subway and went to Chocoholic‘s house. She was already asleep in bed by the time I finally got there. This morning, we had to get up early and listen to the radio in hopes that her school would be closed and she wouldn’t have to go to work. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, so we got bundled up warm and I walked with her to her school and then caught the bus to go to work at the Alternate Office.
What? No SEX?!
BTW, the weather forecasters are calling for another 10 to 15 centimetres (4 to 6 inches) more snow to fall beginning some time this afternoon… I’ll be staying home tonight.
