My sister’s cat used to like to drink fresh water from the tap. But she (the cat, not my sister!) didn’t like to get right into the sink and get wet, she stood on the counter and leaned her head under the faucet.
I’ve seen cats do some really un-cat-like things:
fetch (not just chase a ball, but bring it back!);
chase tinfoil balls in synchronization to a sound effect of a car crash (okay, so he had help from me);
play video games (Centipede was Jennifer’s favourite!);
And the absolutely most amazing thing I’ve seen a cat do is:
play the piano!.
I was visiting my Grade 8 teacher over the recent XXXmas holidays, and saw his cat do this. She (the cat, not my teacher) sat on the piano bench and would reach a paw up and press the keys. So then you have to give her a treat, right? If that wasn’t amazing enough, if you ignored her for a time she would eventually reach up both paws and play a series of notes until you gave her another treat! Perhaps the tune didn’t have much melody, but it certainly had a lot of heart in the playing.
Any man who can teach a cat to play the piano has GOT to be a Great Teacher!
