Things that desperately need doing around Xoozland:
(Numbered but in no particular order)
1. Laundry. There are MOUNDS of dirty clothes in baskets and hampers and piles on the floor in the basement just waiting for me to put them into the Clean Clothes Making Machines. Since my Fruit-of-the-Looms aren’t feeling so fruity any more, I think it’s time I did something about this situation.
2. Dishes. There are STACKS of dirty dishes on the counters in the kitchen just waiting for me to do something with them. Since I don’t own a Clean Dishes Making Machine, I guess I’m going to have to do these by hand.
3. Television. Well, since there really isn’t much worth watching on TV these days, and since I have spent far too much of my life watching TV anyway, it won’t hurt to do nothing about this item.
4. Bedroom. A couple of weeks ago, I decided it would be a nice change to re-arrange the furniture in the bedroom. That’s not an easy task when you have a room as small as mine; there just ain’t a lot of place furniture can go. But I need to clean up all the stuff that got shuffled into the corners during the re-derangement, and do something with it.
5. LiveJournal. If I end up with nothing else to do, and lots of time to do it, I may just get around to scrolling back through my friends’ list and see what goings on I’ve missed over the last little while. Don’t be surprised if I suddenly seem to comment on something that happened, oh let’s say, WEEKS AGO!
As for the REST of the weekend…
It’s still not quite deck building weather, though it is getting close.
On Saturday afternoon, I’m going over to a new friend‘s house to have a look at her deck. She says there are rotten boards and stuff, and she wants to know what it’s going to take to fix. Since I apparently have some experience with decks (you think?)… She says she feels guilty having me come all the way across town to look at her deck, so she’s going to do something to feed me. It’s a “Jewish thing,” I think. The last time I saw this person (prior to making the arrangements for Saturday), I asked if she had a “special meal” she makes if she’s trying to impress someone. Mine is “Chicken a l’Orange, with mixed white and wild rice, and vegetables.” Quite yummy, but it wouldn’t impress my new friend as she is a Vegetarian. Anyway, her response to my question was that she didn’t have any special meal, she just “cooks in the nude!” So now I’m thinking just what kind of meal she’s planning to make for me on Saturday! I’ll be sure to let you know.
On Sunday, I’ll be helping to lead a bike trip to the Toronto Islands. It’s going to be rough. Not only will this be the First Ride of the Season, but I don’t think my bike floats at the best of times!
BUSY, Busy, busy…
