Cyberdating!!

I hope telling you about this doesn’t jinx it, but I have another one on the line. Her name is Alex, and while I haven’t landed her yet, but the initial signs are quite good. I find it quite easy and comfortable to chat with her through e-mail, and she seems responsive. She’s currently out in Vancouver, but will be moving (back) to Toronto December 1st. I’m hoping that the comfort level will continue when we meet face to face.

So far, we have a fair amount in common:
—She enjoys trivia (says she’s “a wiz at Jeopardy”);
—She reads sci-fi/fantasy and vampire novels;
—her musical tastes are “generally mainstream, and opera/classical” (well, you know what I’ll be introducing her to!);
—staying up late is one of her bad habits, too;
—She works for an insurance company (I used to);
—She’s Jewish (not important but a bonus);

And now we’ve talked on the phone long distance, and while the conversations didn’t drag on endlessly into the wee hours of the night, they were quite enjoyable.

At the moment, I’m trying not to be too hopeful while keeping an open mind about this thing— I’ve had Defeat snatched safely from the jaws of Victory before!— but that may change between now and December!
