So there’s this dumpster in my driveway because I’m doing some more home renovations and will need to get rid of the junk from demolishing the old deck before I build the new one.
I came home (from a funeral/memorial service) this afternoon, and just happened to peek into the dumpster. The first thing I noticed is that there is a big hole in one corner of the pile of junk I put there last night…
Someone has come onto my yard to go dumpster diving, and taken almost all of the metal scrap that was there!
I know the stuff in the dumpster is junk/garbage…
I know that whoever did it is actually saving me money (though not much) because it will reduce (marginally) the weight of my load, which I am paying $70/ton for disposal…
But still I can’t help feel somewhat violated because someone had the brass to come onto my yard (and almost into my backyard!) to go dumpster diving!
What is this world coming to when a Man’s Private Garbage is not sacred?
