Dealing with “unfinished business”

[The story of my Psycho Ex-, Part #3]

It’s funny how some things in Life come back to haunt you. This year, I had two women come back into my life briefly because of “unfinished business” from those relationships.

In January, two years after I’d last spoken to her, I had the rare opportunity and pleasure of having Mel’s phone service disconnected.

My mom discovered it when she saw a listing for an [my name] in Burlington on a CD-ROM telephone directory. I called Bell Canada directory assistance, and found a new number still in my name. When Mel changed her number two years ago, she had the nerve to leave it in my name!

Since it was in my name, and I was legally responsible for it, I arranged to have it disconnected. In the end, after all the negotiations with the phone company were complete so I didn’t have to pay for the rental phone that Mel failed to return, I had to pay $9.95 to settle the final bill.
